The Italian Summer Flare: Outfits From Around The World

Looking for a fresh new style to wear during the hot months? Try out these elegant outfit inspirations taken directly from the streets of Venice!

If you're looking for a fresh new style to take to the beach or for your next date night, then you'll definitely want to consider trying casual Italian streetwear. On paper, the country's brands may look intimidating and expensive, but mimicking the everyday look of an Italian in summertime couldn't be easier!

Here is today's "Outfit From Around the World:"

Italian Streetwear!

The Basics of Italian Fashion

Italian fashion holds some strikingly obvious similarities to French fashion, which is why the two are often mistaken for each other. Still, there are some distinctions to be made which set them apart, and you'll find they're pretty different regarding intricacies.

First of all, Italians tend not to mix casual and formal wear quite as much as the French. They still do it, but they tone it down to the point where it's not blatantly obvious.

Second, there is a considerable difference between the upscale "Avant Garde" styles of the country's fashion industry and everyday casual clothing.

Sure, you see runway models and fashion shows where the models are adorned in feathers and all shades of colors, but the reality is that people just wear "whatever" when they're strolling the streets on their day off.

It's mainly about floral dresses and sandals for women, while men typically wear button-down shirts and pants. Obviously, if it's too hot for pants where you live, feel free to switch to shorts, but that's the gist of the style.

Below, I'll link some actual outfits you can get economically off of Amazon for you visual learners.

The Feminine Italian Flare

Overall, summer fashion for Italian gals is pretty simple. It's light and refreshing, and is the type of clothing you'd wear to the beach.

It's also nice because it works well with pretty much every body and skin type. There's virtually no downsides to this style!

Here's what you'll need:

WEACZZY Women's Summer Floral Spaghetti Strap Sundress Sleeveless V-Neck Swing Casual Dresses with Pockets

Floral clothing in general is a staple to Italian fashion. Pair it with another essential clothing article, the sundress, and you've got yourself a standard, yet ravishing summer outfit.

This is the main part of the outfit, and if you nail it with the right dress (which really isn't hard), all you've got left to do is accessorize to your hearts content!

FURTALK Womens Beach Sun Straw Hat UV UPF50 Travel Foldable Brim Summer UV Hat

Sunhats protect your face from the sun and look great - what's not to love about them? While any ol' straw hat would do, this is the one I recommend!

Luffymomo Women's Gladiator Strap Sandals Flat Fisherman Thong Cross Strappy Sand

Heels are widely common in Italian fashion, but I wanted to go with something a bit more comfortable to accommodate those hot summer days. So, we're going with a nice and simple pair of strappy sandals.

You can use your own, but if you're looking for a high-quality, yet economical pair, then take a look at the ones I've linked above - they're pretty great!

I was originally going to say use whatever sun glasses you have lying around the house, but then I saw these. They're so pretty I just had to mention them! Plus they're super cheap and highly rated, so there's virtually no downside to snagging yourself a pair.

No matter what style you're going for in Italy, you're probably gonna see metallic jewelries paired with it. Necklaces, bracelets, ankle bracelets, rings; they add a magnificent elegance to any outfit you devise and are a must for any fashionable lover-girl.

Male Streetwear in Italy

Now that the ladies have gone first, it's time to explore the sleek style of what Italian men wear.

So, what's Italy best know for in terms of male fashion?

Button-down shirts, of course!

From dress shirts to casual summer linen, you'll find that the most stylish boys in Europe are pairing buttons with their shades and pants on their days off. You can swap the khaki's for shorts depending on the heat, but pants are ideal if you can manage.

Here's what you'll need:

Amazon Essentials Men's Slim-Fit Short-Sleeve Print Shirt

Most button-down shirts will work for this outfit and I'm not telling you to go out and buy more if you already have them in your wardrobe, but, if you're in need of some new ones, then check out the floral designs above.

They may just be "generic" Amazon essentials, but they still have excellent quality and a pretty solid design.

Haggar Men's Premium No Iron Khaki Classic Fit Expandable Waist Flat Front Pant

No sweatpants or cargos here; it's all about dress pants and khakis! Certainly, you could switch them out for something a little more comfortable, but then you wouldn't look as slick, would you?

Also, don't forget your best black belt.

Clarks Men's Oxford 옥스퍼드

Even if you can't say the Korean name, you don't need to speak another language to enjoy these suave Oxford shoes. They really complete the semi-formal, cool style of the outfit and are perfect if you're trying to impress a date with your incredible fashion sense.

It's not a crime to sweat sneakers instead, but trust me: you'll look so much better with these.

Lastly, you'll want to protect your eyes from the harsh UV rays of the sun. Like many aspects of these outfits, you can use whatever you have if you're on a budget, but I've linked a nice little pair above just in case.

Final Thoughts

So, do you think your ready to up some Italian fashion without ever leaving the states? It's a lot easier than people think and you probably already have a majority of the ingredients in your closet!
